OdaLog 6000

The "OdaLog 6000" multigas unit is the only portable, intrinsically safe, multiple gas monitor designed and made in Australia. The OdaLog 6000 monitors up to 6 gases covering most popular gas measuring combinations. It is expected that the instrument will primarily be used with the Oxygen, Methane (or other flammables), Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphide configuration to which can be added up to two additional toxic gases such as Nitrogen Oxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Chlorine, Sulphur Dioxide, Hydrogen Cyanide, Ammonia, or other combinations.

The instrument’s flammable sensor can be configured to display % Methane for underground coal mining applications or % LEL for Confined Space Entry applications.

A cylindrical shape was selected for reasons of the superior sealing that can be achieved with o-rings and the ease with which a cylindrical device is handled by the human hand. Double o-ring seals ensure dust and moisture is kept where it belongs - outside the instrument electronics.

Very distinct audible and visual alarms, huge datalogging capacity, and the capability to be used as an area monitor further sets this unit apart from competitive products. The "OdaLog" cylindrical shape has been well accepted in the wastewater industry worldwide and it is believed that the hand-friendly beer can sized shape, coupled with extreme robustness and superb sealing properties will make the "OdaLog 6000" a favourite in the multigas portable market for entering confined spaces and protecting workers in underground mines.

Impact

The Impact range of portable multigas monitors is able to monitor and display up to four gases simultaneously, including flammable and oxygen gases, as well as up to two further toxic gases. Sensors are housed in a plug-in cartridge. The sensor cartridge has a 12 month life and should be replaced at the end of each 12 month period. The key advantage of this system is that it allows the user to budget for gas detector-related expenses each year ie. 2 x NATA calibrations + a sensor cartridge, per 12 months.

Impact is a compact and rugged detector designed for tough environments. Small, lightweight and unobtrusive, it is ideal for use in confined spaces where entry and exit may be difficult. Impact is designed to work how you want it to. Gas checks prior to entering a confined space can be carried out using a drop line, hand aspirator or via an optional built-in pump that turns on and off automatically when the sampling tube is connected.

Ultra-bright alarm lights and a powerful audible alarm, coupled with a periodic green flash and bleep, provide user confidence that monitoring is always in operation and alarms are never missed. In addition, Impact uses a large, multi-lingual, backlit display with intuitive menu system to ease use and minimise operator training.

Specialised Environmental Instruments
OdaLog Logger

The OdaLog Logger has a proven reputation in the Wastewater Industry worldwide as a tool to record and help control levels of H2S gas in sewerage systems and treatment plants. The OdaLog is splash resistant, robust, small, and able to log data for extended periods of time.

The OdaLog has been specifically designed to withstand harsh environments typically found in the Wastewater Industry and features double O-ring seals to protect the electronics from water and dirt ingress. The OdaLog is primarily used by locating it at, or close to, the source of Hydrogen Sulphide emissions such as within sewerage pumping stations and receiving manholes. Its purpose is to log levels of H2S in the range 0-200 ppm over an appropriate time period (for example, seven days).

The OdaLog connects to a computer via the infrared link to download and display the logged data. The OdaLog PC software offers a rich set of features to display and report data with minimal effort. The software can represent data in tabular or graphical form to highlight variations in H2S levels over time.

OdaLog Low Range 0.01-2.00ppm Logger

The OdaLog Low Range H2S Logger is a high sensitivity, portable, convenient, and weather resistant instrument designed to assist in H2S odour management activities. It accurately measures concentrations of H2S much lower than the standard range of OdaLog H2S Loggers. With a range of 0.01 to 2.00ppm, the OdaLog Low Range H2S Logger allows reliable measurement of H2S based odours at plant fence-lines, scrubber outlets, land fill sites, and residential locations where odour complaints are frequently reported.

Typically the OdaLog Low Range H2S Logger may be placed at the outlet of a scrubber for performance tracking or several units may be mounted on a fence line or plant perimeter for the purpose of measuring concentrations of H2S leaving a facility and entering adjoining properties.

Data can be logged at sampling intervals of between 10 minutes and one hour. The recorded H2S data can be downloaded to a computer using the standard OdaLog infrared link and OdaLog software. Detailed information on the OdaLog software can be found on the OdaLog H2S Logger website.

An internal battery (1 x standard C size Alkaline cell) will operate the built-in sampling system continuously for at least seven days and a separate internal Lithium cell powers the main processor functions for at least two months.

App-Tek OdaTrakOdaTrak 4 to 20mA Adapter

The OdaTrak™ 4 to 20mA adapter was primarily designed as an interface between the OdaLog gas Logger and industrial control systems for the purpose of continuous, real-time optimisation of chemical dosing odor control systems and connection to telemetry and other systems.

The OdaTrak™ 4 to 20mA adapter reads gas concentration data sent from an OdaLog gas Logger over a fiber optic cable, deciphers the data, and then outputs the corresponding 4-20mA loop analogue signal. This allows the OdaLog unit to be interfaced to control and telemetry systems providing real-time gas data. This signal could be used to optimise chemical dosing, trigger alarms, control ventilation fans, or interface to telemetry systems etc. The OdaLog Logger can still be used as a standalone data-logging instrument if required.

Special features of the OdaTrak™ 4 to 20mA adapter include:

Fault detection - The OdaTrak™ has the ability to detect for a loss of OdaLog data over a predetermined period of time and will output a fault state on the 4 to 20mA line when that time limit has expired. The fault current is 3.5mA.

Suitable for harsh environments - The fibre optic cable connector features an O-ring seal to prevent the ingress of dust and liquid, and the OdaTrak unit is fully sealed.

Quick and easy installation - The OdaTrak has an M20 thread machined as part of the housing. Simply mount through a 20mm hole or threaded junction box entry.

Data logging - All of the usual OdaLog functions, including data logging, are available while the 4 to 20mA link is active.

The OdaTrak™ System typically includes:
• One to three OdaLog® gas Loggers
• One fibre optic cable used to connect the OdaLog fibre optic output to the input of the OdaTrak™ 4 to 20mA adapter.
• One OdaTrak™ 4 to 20mA adapter

For continuous monitoring in very humid environments (typical of wastewater applications), the OdaTrak™ System requires three OdaLogs with each OdaLog in service no longer than one week whilst the other two OdaLogs are stored in fresh air. This allows the sensor in each OdaLog to recover from the high relative humidity and gas levels present in most wastewater applications. Alternatively, two OdaLogs can be used in combination with a Sensor Conditioning Kit. Place the recovering OdaLog into the Sensor Conditioning Kit for a few days while resting to speed sensor recovery from two weeks to one week enabling continuous monitoring to be achieved with two OdaLogs instead of three.

App-Tek Sensor Conditioning KitThe Sensor Conditioning Kit uses a replaceable drying media to maintain a very low humidity atmosphere inside the container. This significantly speeds up the removal of excess water from the gas sensor. Typically this allows two OdaLog units to be used for continuous monitoring applications in humid environments instead of three. A digital humidity meter in the lid of the Sensor Conditioning Kit continuously monitors the condition of the internal atmosphere and can be used to determine when replacement of the drying media is required.
