Meters

We offer the complete range of Quest Sound Level meters to meet your environmental, industrial hygiene, and occupational health & safety monitoring requirements. Sound level meters are instruments designed to react to noise much like the human ear. The measurements taken by sound level meters are compared to known standards to identify whether the noise level could have a detrimental effect on humans located near the noise source. We offer both the Type 1 precision instruments and the Type 2 instruments for general industry use.

The Quest Range:

Basic

- 210
- 1100/2100
- 1200/2200

The Quest Basic range offers extremely simple to use tools for obtaining the most commonly required noise measurements.

SoundPro Series

SoundPro SE & DL

The new SoundPro SE & DL Series of Hand Held Sound Level Meters and Real-Time Frequency Analysers in combination with QuestSuite Professional II applications software is specifically designed to greatly simplify the efforts required to reliably perform advanced noise analysis. All SoundPro SE and DL Series meters incorporate 2 virtual sound level meters for simultaneous measurements. Meters equipped with 1/1 and/or 1/3 octave real-time frequency analysis allow users to choose between RTA and broadband measurement modes for one of the virtual sound level meters.

SoundPro DLX

The Quest SoundPro DLX represents the latest advancement in portable acoustic measurement technology. The instrument is a complete hand-held acoustic system based on a multi-processor digital signal processing (DSP) platform. The SoundPro DLX combines all the features of an integrating sound level meter but by including an internal 1/1 or 1/3 digital octave filter, it becomes a real-time octave band analyser. This is a significant advancement from traditional sound level meters and octave band analysers – the efficiencies gained by real-time frequency analysis reduces testing times for octave and 1/3 octave analysis efforts by 91% and 97% respectively. The SoundPro DLX fully complies with the requirements of IEC/EN 61672 and previous appropriate international standards for sound level meters and octave filters.

The SoundPro® DLX takes sound level measurements of all your octave band data simultaneously in one sample, saving you both time and money. Voice, text, and drawing notes can be added to help you further describe special circumstances or events that relate to your study.

Our unique "Three Meters In One" feature takes the results from three (3) separately configured virtual meters and displays them simultaneously in real time on the LCD screen. This screen is the largest colour PDA style graphical display for this type of instrument in the industry. For remote access, connect the SoundPro® DLX to a network and use the internal web server to remotely control the instrument and view your data from any device with access to the network.

SoundPatrol Series

Enforcement of local noise ordinances requires field testing of noise levels and documentation of measurement results, particularly in the event a citation is issued. The need exists for a simple system that requires minimal training to be easily deployed in the field by law enforcement personnel. The system must provide credible data and convenient methods for field calibration and printing of test results in the field.

The solution is the Sound Patrol DP 1200 (Class 1) and the SoundPatrol DP 2200 (Class 2) integrating sound level meters with digital printing capabilities. Both meters are rugged, high-quality devices and users will quickly learn to confidently perform a pre-test field calibration, take a valid noise sample, perform a post-test calibration check and generate printed results using the system’s convenient belt-worn portable printer.

Sound Calibrators

• QC-10
• QC-20

Sound calibrators provide quick and precise field calibration of your Quest sound measurement instruments. The calibrator generates a stable acoustic signal at a controlled frequency and amplitude to verify the accuracy of your meter in the field. The QC-10 is a general purpose calibrator that generates a constant sound pressure level of 114dB at a fixed frequency of 1,000Hz. The QC-20 is recommended for use with precision ANSI and IEC Type 1 meters.

Octave Band Filters
• OB-50
• OB-100
• OB-300

Quest offers 3 octave band filter sets – all of which can be easily adapted to the modular design of the entire Advanced Series of meters. The OB-300 combination 1/3 and 1/1 Octave Band filter set gives you a choice of measuring 33 one-third octave bands or 11 standard full octave bands. The OB-100 is identical to the OB-300 except that measurements are made in full octave bands only. The OB-50 provides nine octave bands from 31.5Hz to 8 KHz and will manually sequence through each frequency.

Sound Level Detector/Controller

The Quest 261 is a Sound Detector/Controller that provides continuous measurement of noise levels in a specified area and activates (or deactivates) an electrical signalling device when a specified noise level has been exceeded. Signal devices typically include buzzers, lights, sirens, or indicators such as the Quest Model LB-26 Light Box. However any electrical device that uses up to 10 amps and 300 V DC or AC can be used.

Typical Applications Include:

• Hospitals, Neonatal Intensive Care Units
• School Lunchrooms, Gymnasiums, Classrooms
• Industrial Work Areas
• Environmental Work Areas
• Nightclubs and other Entertainment Establishments
• Aircraft maintenance hangars
